I have this song by Alison Krauss on an old cd that I haven't listened to in quite awhile. Yesterday, I heard it on the radio on the way to church and remembered how much this song means to me. Alison Krauss has one of those unmistakeable voices and she uses it to lift this prayer and your heart while she's singing it.

I went online this morning to see if I could find it and found it on YouTube. If you go to the YouTube web site, type in alison krauss-a living prayer and you can hear her sing it live on Jay Leno's program. I prefer the cd version because the sound is better but you should give yourself a treat and listen to the live version anyway. Lol, I listened twice and I know the song!

Here are the lyrics:

In this world I walk alone
With no place to call my home,
But there's One who holds my hand
Through rugged roads, through barren lands.
The way is dark, the road is steep,
But He's become my eyes to see,
The strength to climb, my griefs to bear.
The Saviour lives inside me there.

In Your love I find relief,
A haven from my unbelief.
Take my life and let me be
A living prayer, my God, to Thee.

In these trials of life I find
Another Voice inside my mind.
He comforts me and bids me live
Inside the love the Father gives.

In Your love I find relief.
A haven from my unbelief.
Take my life and let me be
A living prayer, my God, to Thee.

Take my life and let me be
A living prayer, my God, to Thee.
